Job Duties:
This position is located at the Public Utilities Commission office in St. Paul and is not available for teleworking. The hours for this role will be Monday - Friday, 10:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
NOTE: This is a classified temporary part-time position which is anticipated to last for 6 months.
This position exists to facilitate the objectives of the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission (PUC) by serving the first point of contact at our front desk, assisting visitors with inquiries, managing hearing room traffic. In addition, the position:
Coordinates large outgoing mailings of formal orders, notices and rulemaking documents
Provides general administrative support to unit supervisors by updating Project Management databases, maintaining service lists, providing timely eFiling, mailings and Certificates of Service
Provides administrative support forspecial projects/initiatives in the HumanResources/BusinessOffice.
Minimum Qualifications
Customer service skills sufficient to provide information to the public and other employees effectively and courteously in person, by phone calls and email.
Communications skills to prepare responses to routine inquiries and apply accurate spelling and grammar in written communications.
Knowledge of data entry procedures and systems such Microsoft Office or similar data entry systems.
Knowledge of document and/or records management systems sufficient to store, categorize, and retrieve electronic files.
Ability to use social media platforms to reply to customer questions.
Preferred Qualifications
One (1) year of administrative, or retail work in a customer facing environment including experience with a variety of workplace equipment, such as computers, printers, and scanners.
Computer skills sufficient to use Microsoft Office Suite Software, Excel, and Internet search tools.
Knowledge and/or experience with eDockets or eFiling systems.
Prior government, regulatory, or industry experience.
Knowledge of and experience with FileMaker Pro; Adobe Acrobat Pro and E-Dockets.
