Filling two positions.
This position is located at Central Office in St. Paul and has the flexibility to telework, work a hybrid schedule, or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent may be expected to work in the office on occasion.
This position exists to assist motor carriers to achieve compliance with federal and state laws, statutes, rules, and regulations in the State of Minnesota. The position primarily exists to inspect vehicles and audit the required business records relative to state regulated Special Transportation Service (STS) providers and limousine operators. These activities include advising carriers and drivers regarding motor carrier regulations.
Travel and some overnight travel is required within the State of Minnesota.
MnDOT does not sponsor applicants for visas or Optional Practical Exam for STEM Students. Individuals must be legally authorized to work in the US at the start of employment.
Minimum Qualifications
One year of professional experience in the bullets below;
OR
Two years of technical or advanced clerical experience in the bullets below;
NOTE: A bachelor's degree in business, education, communications, criminal justice, and psychology/sociology may substitute for 1 year of professional experience.
· Experience applying laws and rules regarding records and record-keeping requirements sufficient to complete special transportation services audit and limousine audits, documenting findings in a written format;
· Experience in a regulatory setting that includes oversight and enforcement of laws, rules, and regulations to ensure compliance;
· Experience writing and orally explaining information to others sufficient to complete a thorough investigation, compile findings in a written format and to be able to make an oral presentation of the findings;
· Experience reading and understanding court decisions;
· Valid Driver's License.
