This position provides leadership to the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Care Division regarding food and nutrition service programs. The position will oversee and manage the quality and clinical team at Central Office and make recommendations to the Healthcare Leadership Team regarding clinical care practices and delivery for 8 Minnesota Veterans homes.
The Minnesota Veterans home locations are: Preston, Luverne, Fergus Falls, Montevideo, Bemidji, Silver Bay, Hastings, and Minneapolis.
Minimum Qualifications
- Licensed in Minnesota as a Registered Dietician, in good standing
In addition to the above listed education and licensure, qualified applicants must also possess the following:
Three (3) years ofhealthcareexperienceinalong-termcare,hospiceorpalliativecare, hospital,orseniorhealthcaresetting
One (1) year experience managerial, supervisory or leadwork
Knowledge of clinical standards that detail the essential steps in the care of the Residents
Knowledge of production standards related to safety, compliance, and quality control
Communications skills sufficient to develop and deliver training/education, and explain complex terms and concepts to a diverse audience
Ability to utilize technical tools such as, SharePoint, Outlook, Excel, Electronic Medical Record System, and Nutrition Management System, Payroll/Finance System
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in large scale kitchen operations
KnowledgeofthespecialclinicalcareneedsoftheVeteranscommunity
Experience attaining Quality Metrics to ensure that Residents are receiving the food, nutrition, choices, and quality that meet safety standards and best practices
CertificationinServe Safe orotherrelatedfield
Clinicalexpertiseanddiscernmentindeliveringcaretotheelderly,thoseattheendoflife,and Veterans
Experience delivering health care education to a variety of health care professionals
Knowledge of long-term care advocacy organizations
