Provide technical assistance in the timely completion of preventative maintenance work for lighting, traffic signals, and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) assets so that the District is able to meet the Agency’s performance measures and prolong the lifespan of these traffic assets.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Valid Class D Driver’s License

  • Ability to operate a computer, printer and experience with computer programs (Windows Explorer, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel)

  • Knowledge of elementary mathematics

  • Writing and communication skills sufficient to interact positively with co-workers and public

  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals

  • Ability to read, comprehend and navigate via highway maps

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of lighting and traffic signal systems

Field:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to work outside exposed to the weather elements (both cold and hot) on a semi-regular basis. The employee will occasionally drive a motor vehicle in off-road conditions. Periodically, the employee will walk on even and uneven/sloping ground. The employee may work in high volume traffic zones in day and nighttime conditions. The employee must frequently and continually rotate through various body positions (standing, twisting, bending, sitting, kneeling, and squatting). The employee will operate equipment (using vision and hearing) under varying temperatures. The employee must occasionally move up to 50 pounds by pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying. Periodically, the employee will push and/or pull carts, dollies and two-wheel trucks. The employee must be able to wear and use personal protective equipment to protect the head, eyes, hearing, respiration, visibility, and feet from injury.

Office:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use wrists, hands, and fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
